Stranded Analogies
This group of photographs explores a loose sense of narrative. My interest is in setting up comparisons both within the frame, and frame to frame, and that within these sequences there is a sense of narrative and continuation. Sequences interest me because they can add another layer to how the image is perceived. When I look for images I am often trying to make unspoken connections that are not necessarily literal. I want these photographs to feel as though the viewer is passing through small vignettes that contain some mystery and ambiguity. I am fascinated by the camera’s ability to describe the most particular detail while essentially holding back a precise meaning.
